About the Editor
Editor Kristie Poehler has been studying the Civil War for over twenty years.  She published her first
book,
Gettysburg: The Monuments and Their Stories in 1996.  In 2000, she created a documentary with
Connecticut Public Television entitled
New England and the Civil War.  This exciting program won the
2002 Telly Award for History.  

Today, she is working on many projects, including a
New England and the Civil War Discovery Trail and
her newest book,
America Without the Civil War as well as the screenplay for a Civil War television series
based on her first historical fiction, called
The Cause.  She resides in Massachusetts.
